Children with facial abnormalities are living with immense challenges. There could be various reasons: birth defects, severe burns, trauma or cancer – but suffering is similar. Just imagine having difficulty eating, talking, sometimes even breathing. Also imagine the psychological impact of not being able to go to school, play outside, or have friends. These kids and their parents or caregivers are alone with this pain.
Fortunately, many of these conditions can be treated with advanced surgeries. Today, we have an incredible opportunity to make a life-changing impact on some children in Kazakhstan by providing them with world-class facial reconstructive operations by American plastic surgeons, FREE of charge, in Almaty.
TOGETHER with you, we can give these kids a GIFT of SMILE and HOPE!
The Kazakhstan Cultural Business Association of North America (KCBANA) is an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to build strong bridges between Kazakhstan and North America. Part of our goal is to help the most vulnerable population groups like orphans, children and adults with special needs and violence victims in Kazakhstan. In pursuit of these goals, KCBANA is launching a medical exchange project between the United States and Kazakhstan.
We are partnering with a prominent US team of nine medical professionals led by Dr. Hubert who is willing to embark on a humanitarian mission to provide plastic surgeries for children in need. The American surgeons will work side by side with their Kazakh colleagues at Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Almaty, using advanced techniques such as microscopic reconstructive surgery on up to 20 children (depending on the complexity level). In addition, this project would provide hands-on training and seminars for medical professionals and students.
The US medical team is donating their time and instruments. KCBANA has already collected $5,000 and we aim to raise $30,000 to cover such costs as travel, equipment, housing, and meals for the 10-day project at the end of October 2024. We need to raise about half of that amount by the end of August to book airline tickets. So time is of the essence!
Benefits to the Society:
- Changing Lives: These surgeries will transform the lives of children who struggle physically and emotionally because of their facial abnormalities.
- Cost efficiency: By doing the surgeries in Kazakhstan, we avoid the high costs of sending kids abroad for treatment. In addition, domestic surgeries allow families to support their children during recovery at home.
- Long-Term Impact: Kazakh doctors and medical students will adapt new techniques from their American counterparts, ensuring better care for future patients. Moreover, ongoing medical exchange will benefit the Kazakh-American cooperation overall.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Your donation will directly fund transportation, accommodation and supplies for a medical team that will perform facial reconstructive surgeries on up to 20 children.
- Spread the Word: Share our cause with friends, and colleagues who may also be passionate about making a difference.
All US-based supporters will receive 501(c)(3) tax-exempt donation receipts!
