KCBANA is opening a new series of stories about some members of our Kazakh-American community who are actively participating in volunteering and social projects.  These publications are presented free of charge and intended to serve as an inspiration and reminder that success is truly meaningful when it benefits not only oneself but also the world around us.

Tursun Alkau: MyProMovers Is Giving Back to the Community

Tursun Alkau came to the United States in 2016.  A year later he founded MyProMovers from scratch.  Since 2017, the company has experienced phenomenal growth, now operating a fleet of over 20 vehicles and creating 58 working spaces, all while delivering exceptional service that spans a wide spectrum of moving needs.

However, what truly sets Tursun Alkau and MyProMovers apart is their commitment to giving back to the community. Tursun firmly believes in the power of social responsibility and community engagement. The company actively participates in the Volunteer & Partner Services (VPS) Program under Fairfax County Family, which focuses on supporting families at risk of abuse, neglect, or placement in foster care. Since 2018, MyProMovers has been donating moving services to families in need, offering a helping hand during challenging times.

Tursun Alkau and his wife Amina Ibragimova are active members of the Kazakh-American community. They wholeheartedly respond to calls for assistance, whether it be coordinating the shipment of donated clothes, toys, and books to an orphanage in Kazakhstan or participating in events organized by the Kazakhstan Cultural-Business Association of North America to promote Kazakh culture in the United States. Amina also started a catering service @janym_soul_kitchen. She recently provided delicious Central Asian hors d’oeuvres for the KCBANA’s recent event with Kazakh virtuoso violinist Aiman Mussakhajayeva at the World Bank!  This family’s involvement in community initiatives highlights their dedication to creating positive change.

We extend our best wishes to Tursun Alkau and MyProMovers, and we eagerly anticipate their continued success and impact in the years to come.
